Don’t Sway From Prayer

Beware of anything that sways you from prayer time with God. If we’re not regularly connected with God the strong winds and forces of the world can sweep our minds right out to sea. Just as the body needs food, we need daily communication with God. Prayer is to the heart as water is to a waterfall. The believer must stay in close connection to God at all times through prayer. Prayer encourages us, gives us guidance, and keeps us aligned with God’s purposes, plans, and will. Each day, the ¬†world pulls us in many different directions. Sometimes life feels like we’re riding on the currents of a channel. Up and down, in and out and thrown all over the place. Prayer equalizes and balances the other sides of life. Life throws us around and prayer balances and comforts our hearts. God meant for us to stay close to Him, to make Him a priority, and put Him first. When we do that through prayer, life is just easier, more peaceful, more joyful, more focused, and more confident. Make your prayer time a priority and God promises to guide you, direct you, encourage you, and keep you focused on His purposes and plans.

Proverbs 3:5-6 says this; “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, might and soul. Lean not on your own understanding. Acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.” We learn how to trust, follow, and obey when we have consistent and regular prayer time with God. Keep your prayer time a priority. Don’t let anything else get in the way, manipulate you, or distract you. Always remember what God promises if we keep Him top priority and first place in our lives: He will guide us, direct us, and keep us focused on His will, His plans, and His purposes.
